I am the queen of starting things and not following through. Violin, flute, volleyball, many starts at the gym, workout programs, etc. I always start these things and never finish. I find something else that interests me and move on. I've always had some athletic ability and never really let it shine. As I get older, I see my family age , and some of the health problems they deal with really make me think: Do I want to go through that too?
Being lazy is always the easiest thing. It's easy to come home from work or school or wherever really, and just be lazy, that's what I've always found. I'm writing here to hold myself accountable, to make sure that I follow through. I'm at a point in my life where I want to be healthier, I want to explore this fantastic planet, and I don't want something I do to prevent me from anything! There have been so many situations in the past where I've sat out and been a spectator because I was too self conscious, too worried that I would look out of shape or wouldn't be able to participate in the manner that I would like. Not anymore.
I've decided to create a new, better me. I've decided that I want to take my health and fitness into my hands. My heaviest weight was 220 lbs, at my first weigh in at Fit Soldiers I weighed 202. In the past I've always let my weight be a factor of my self worth. About two years ago I decided that I wasn't going to gauge myself by how I looked, that wasn't me. People love me for my sense of humor, my big heart, my ability to have carefree moments, not because I'm overweight. If others didn't use weight as a factor on how much they loved me, why did I? So long story short I did some soul searching and found confidence in my strengths.
I recently joined Fit Soldiers Fitness Revolution and was completely shocked at the environment there. Everyone is supportive of your goals, the people who go there to work out and the trainers, and it's such an amazing environment. I knew once I joined, I would have to hold myself accountable to building a healthier self. There are all of these other people there committed and supporting me, so I feel I have to support myself too. As I said before, it's not about weight for me anymore, it's about having a healthier, fitter self, so I don't limit what I can do or be in this world. I'm excited for my journey, and I hope that if you don't see me post regularly, you help me hold myself accountable.
I'm so excited for you!!! :) I love you. Got get it Sara, the world is yours. <3
